Experience

Throughout my time at university, I have done several internships to learn about the media industry firsthand. For personal and commercial projects please see the video projects page.

Maker Intern: Red Tettemer O' Connell & Partners
Advertising agency:PHL

While at Red Tettemer, I interned in the maker department, which handles all the production for photo and video advertisements for clients. Some clients I worked with include: Insomnia Cookies, Sparkling Ice, Dietz & Watson, Disneys' Doorables, and Black and Decker. My main role was to assist the photographers with setting up shots in the studio. This means setting up lights, placing the product with props, and positioning the camera. I also edited some photos in adobe photoshop for the final print for client. I observed the command chain in an advertising agency and how an idea is communicated from client to creative directors to production.

NBC10 Philadelphia
News Station

While interning at NBC10 news in center city Philadelphia, I was able to observe every aspect of a news station operating in the top ten market. I shadowed positions including producers, directors, photographers, reporters, technology operations, engineers, creative team, marketers, and digital writers. I assisted the station at community events such as the Philadelphia African American Heritage block party and the WAWA Welcome America Fourth of July Concert. I went into the field with reporters and photographers on all kinds of stories. I assisted the digital team by cutting footage from our broadcast and writing a few articles. I also made an in-house video for new hires!

Klein Global Opportunities
Peer Advisor:

Klein GO! Opportunities is Temple University's  Klein College of Media and Communication study abroad center. I was first brought on as a summer intern, where I edited promotional videos, curated the Instagram, and designed webpages for programs. Having attended a Klein GO! program myself, I was brought on as a peer advisor in the fall of 2022. The peer advisors included all the same responsibilities as the intern, with the addition of advising inquiring students and marketing the study abroad trips. I talked one-on-one with students and presented to large classes. I started creating TikToks for Klein Global and pitched regular Instagram social ideas. I had the freedom to create any video about a program for the YouTube page. This experience taught me so much about communication, social media marketing, and pushed me creatively
